Good afternoon

My Wife and I are looking to relocate to an area close to Gibraltar.

I would like to ask what is the situation now post Brexit if I was to live in Spain but work in Gibraltar.

Is this still possible?

And what are the criteria?

Thanks

Andy and Dalia

Good Morning

Here are some websites to  help you with your move. If you bring a UK Registered Car with you to Spain, then you will  have 6 months to re-register it on to  Spanish Plates. You will have to exchange  your UK drivers licence for a Spanish one and also take a Drivers Test in Spanish. Contact the Gibraltar Government for info on working in Gibraltar. Have a look online for relative website.

Hi, post Brexit has caused many problems for most people, as we know and in particular the relocation process from the UK to Spain.  For all information, including the process - in terms of Visas etc - go to: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/living-in-spain You will find this to be the most up-to-date and reliable information available. You can register there for regular emails - even daily, which will provide you with every update, as it happens.

As for Gibraltar (the most polluted country in Europe, according to WHO), the crossing into Gib from Spain and back again is completely open for workers. Spanish residents may also enter Gibraltar but since Brexit, (as I understand it) cannot bring certain items back into Spain (so don't get too excited about Marks & Spencer - it's also a very tiny branch).  I know dairy products and certain dried vegetables were confiscated at the border.

Hope this helps. I would advise wearing a mask in Gibraltar though - not just for COVID but it IS very affected by the oil refinery and the polluted rock.  My family tend to avoid going altogether.
