Not at all. I was simply pointing out that the whole idea of using Hydroxychloroquine at all appears to have come from Donald Trump who was advocating its use when scientific advice was expressly saying quite the opposite. This as nothing whatsoever to do with politics or political views. I ...

...was simply suggesting that following advice from a medic or a scientist would, in my opinion, be a better way forward than listening to a politician who still doesn't appear to be social distancing especially when he appears at news conferences. As I also said, the OP can do whatever makes him feel comfortable, nobody is judging. Apart from you, apparently.

Oh dear, somebody having a go at me. Not your best idea, I resent personal insults and I will react, usually very badly. You introduced Trump into the conversation, not me. Read your own pompous posts.

Here are actual facts. The drug is not new, it is 70 years old. It is being used to combat the virus in France and it is among other drugs that are being approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It is also being used in 2 NHS Trusts as a trial and it is currently used in the treatment of inflammation in the human body, such as arthritis, amongst other illnesses. So where is the express advice against using it as you state?

Why are you looking for an argument? I am not claiming to know anything at an expert level, I have simply posted, trying to be helpful, as a layman with a modicum of education who has been following developments like everyone else. I am not claiming to know more than anyone else. For some reason you are turning this into way more than it is or needs to be. I have nothing further to say on the matter. The OP, the person that this thread is important to, can do as he pleases, based on the opinion given.

In your first contact with me, you closed with the offensive comment 'nobody is judging. Apart from you, apparently.' Not the best comment is it. The drug is 70 years old, but you attribute it to Donald Trump, why? Betrays your allegiances already. I have no interest in politics, but I did work in a senior capacity in the NHS for years, so I have a little knowledge of their procedures. The fact is, the Corona virus has been around since 2002 and the scientific community have done nothing to combat its spread, apart from telling us to stay in and wash our hands. Billions spent by these experts and the WHO and the outcome? Zero antidote or vaccine. These are facts, not opinion or speculation. Does Hydroxychloroquine work? I have no idea, but it has few side effects for those taking it and there have been some encouraging results, so why not try it?
