Driving License

I am Canadian, with a Qatar Drivers License and purchased an International Driving Permit which claims Spain as one of the countries under this treaty. I also have a new residency TIE for Spain as of February 2021.
QUESTION: can I drive on the International Driving Permit which is valid until 2023 ? Or do I need to convert to a Spanish / European Drivers License ? Where can I go to get the definitive answer to this question ?
