Can anyone tell me how much costs are roughly

Ie what taxes are paid, running costs of a bar

I would be looking to set up in an existing bar doing hot food

Tapas/meals

Re

I do wonder if a series post? Considering such an enterprise here would be crazy.

It’s a serious post not looking to come and make our fortune , just better climate and show our kids a different way of life

We have run pubs here in England and done it successfully, my wife is fluent in Spanish as she lived in Spain before I met her so that’s one barrier less

At moment just looking at options , obviously brexit and covid have changed things

Hi Tony

The other messages are trying to tell you (politely, instead of bluntly) that you are more than 99.99% going to come with a few quid, full of optimism and fail miserably, simply because they have seen people like yourself struggle to get the air fare back home when the realisation sinks in and your pockets are empty!

Come and spend a week's holiday here, talk to British bar owners who precede you, if they are honest they will tell you they are struggling, and if they are not honest, they will paint a false picture and try and sell you their business.... with some story about being really sorry to have to leave, but family illness in the UK is forcing the very reluctant sale of their goldmine business..... seen it so many times in the many years living here.

Come and get a job if you like?... (and if you can?)... and see for yourself before you do your money... BIG TIME

Hope my advice is appreciated for its honesty, and not disliked for popping your dream.

I totally agree. Im daily reading the Spanish news about the multiple fines you may receive, for not having X Y and Z in your car.

That, plus the police state rules and the tax rate, will ensure  we will be moving back to southern ireland asap, ...despite the weather. Bali and Malaysia are better choices.

Good, and very sensible to do that.

Be very wary of "Agents" who will undoubtedly try to sell you something that will fill their  pockets and empty yours!

If you come to Spain as a pensioner on a Non Lucerative Visa in order to spend the winters but as a tenant and not a homeowner do you still have to apply for a TIE
