Hello, I looked up Estepona on google earth and all I could see was tall buildings. I moved my cursor to the old town with not much luck. Can anyone suggest a lovely whitewashed town to live in, that is not up a big hill or somewhere far away from Estepona. Thanks

Anna

It's impossible to suggest a place, it's such a personal decision. The best thing is to come here and look around. If you don't already know the region you may not like it - living here is very different from being here on holiday. There's always cheap rooms, public transport is generally good so you don't need a car, and eating out is cheap so, spending a month is entirely possible and probably enough time to give you enough information to go on.

Thank you. I am not looking for a touristy ex-pat place. I'd like a mix of cultures. I will be spending a week. Can you suggest a hotel or a B & B please

.

Well, the Old Town of Estepona is not high rise.

But you will most certainly not get anything for €450!  I am falling off my chair laughing, I´m afraid. Estepona is up-market and more expensive than that.

Whaitewashed and cheaper, you need to look at Nerja, for example.

Best wishes

No, the funny thing was thinking Estepona was a reasonably priced place to live.

It isn't , I'm afraid.

You could have been a little more tactful however. I was aware that I would have to look outside of Estepona

To be honest I don't find Nerja particularly reasonable either. I do understand what it's like when you have a limited budget. And I do think you may be able to find something within your budget if you search. A lot depends on the time of year.  I'd look on airbnb at the cheapest and then send them private messages asking what their lowest was for a month. If they have no bookings they may offer you a bargain. Good luck.
