Hi All

we will be having our first Xmas and New Year in Estepona this year and wondered what activities (if any) we may find in the town?

Thanks

On 5 January, there is a parade of the 3 Kings that travels through the town. Get the time from the tourist information office.

In Plaza Del Reloj at around 23.00 on 31 Dec many people gather to welcome in the new year. Bring 12 grapes per person (available in a tin at supermarkets) together with a bottle of cava/champagne and some plastic cups. As the clock chimes the 12 strokes of midnight, pop a grape in your mouth and eat it. If you consume the 12 by midnight, you will have a good year.  Christmas day lunch is not celebrated by the Spanish, only Christmas eve supper so if you like going to a restaurant on the 25th, book early.

Enjoy your first experience of Xmas/New Year/3 Kings.

Dear Neville

Thanks for this, we actually arrive Dec 22nd and leave Jan 3rd, so at least will catch some of the festivities! Have booked somewhere already for the 25th, so with that and your   advice, we should have most bases covered now! BW Greg
