Hi
Looking for advice from seasoned travellers. We have bought a bolthole which we intend to use for around a maximum of 90 days per trip. Our house and contents insurance in the Uk is due for renewal and most insurers are refusing to cover contents during absence or want to charge excessive rates. Does anyone have any recommendations on good insurance companies in the UK who would provide cover?

Hi! The problem is that many/most UK insurers will only cover up to 60 days' absence. You could try Martin Lewis's website (Moneysavingexpert): he's generally up-to-speed. We use Saga Insurance a lot and have found them reasonably-priced and efficient. They also do holiday home insurance which might be useful for your Spanish property. Other than that, our Spanish property is insured with Zurich who seem sound.

Try also Vasek Insurance in the UK. They specialise in unoccupied property

Looking for a mid to long term rental in duquesa from Dec 6 whilst looking to buy there. Ideally 2 bedrooms, and very near the port we stay there every winter and need a place who will accept our clean friendly cocker spaniel Millie Thanks
