We've just returned from CdS to UK, & of course completed the PLF prior to arriving. Our experience may be useful?
Its not scary but you do need your Day2 test reference (assuming you are double vaxed). The PLF asks you to upload your Covid Vax confirmation, but there an option if you cannot (We could not as unhelpfully the PLF asks for a single QR code on the covid pass, the NHS doc has two QR's) Tried photo of one of the QR's but couldn't be verified. NO WORRIES, we completed without covid pass verification, they said they would check later but did not.
Once you've done the PLF (& have your covid pass) you can complete your travel carriers API (Eurotunnel in our case)
Travel was simple, show passport at Spain/French & UK customs (get your passport stamped as you leave otherwise you'll still be classed as being within Schengen)
And that was it, PLF was not requested (you couldn't travel unless you've uploaded to your airline/tunnel so no need for them to check again)
In summary I wouldn't worry about printing your PLF, although I do understand you might want the comfort of holding a hard copy, its not necessary.
