Hi

I have received a notification that a parcel from the UK is in Spanish Customs. Can someone please tell me how I can pay the charge. Apparently I have to pay before Correos will deliver the parcel but I cannot  find where on their website you can pay this

You have to fill out a declaration form, it's a nightmare..took me 4 weeks to get some €20 earphones my friend posted after I left them in the UK.

It is a very difficult process. You first need to register from the link Alex147 posted and then with your tracking number you should be able to navigate to the item and then fill in the declaration form.  Don't forget to upload all accompanying documentation as well as a signed version of the electronic form you will have just also filled in (!) .  I was getting an error message every time I logged in but there is also an english version of the site which did let me in for some reason.  The whole process has taken me weeks and even though I managed to get through to the final payment stage I still do not have the package after several more weeks.  Top tip I guess is to keep looking at the progress via your tracking number and you will see when your supporting documentation has been approved or rejected.  I wish you much patience !

It's not a scam if it is from the official customs address and contains their details.

And as long as he uses the official site I linked him to and follows the instructions HelenH provided, they are safe.

Hi All

Well if this is an official site then they need to call in IT experts to get rid of the virus problems on their site. My computer will not open their site because of this. It opens in my phone but the doc download links do not work. After reading the Trust Pilot reviews I am considering making a complaint to the Police  that they have stolen my parcel. I thought this was official customs but it is a private company who seem to have conned a contract to hold up GB parcels as a money making racket. I am not at all amused and cannot download the documents they require.

Part of what you say is correct, I have just read up on them. Good luck with the Police route...they won't do anything. They are a legit company and part of Correos to expedite work that customs is struggling to do.

Most items that come from the UK have customs charges and import tax now if they are stopped, so whether you go through ADT or the ridiculously complicated and long way directly through customs you will probably end up paying tax unless the item/s is of very low value.

I used the adt portal and declared the value of the item as less €20 and didn't pay anything..I think the threshold is €45.

Actually, just gone back over my forms and it seems I had to pay €6.45 to get my headphones. Whether or not I could have avoided paying this charge by dealing with customs directly I don't know.... From what I've read it seems items under €45 are not liable to tax.
