Thankyou, I hate the idea of annoying people and apologise if that was the case, however, the below first post said things like ...
"I realise the oxymoron of "trustworthy estate agent"
"I've been burnt before by Spanish agents"
"Any recommendations?"
Both I and another person did give the name of a couple of agents, but he did state himself he was 'sceptical about trusting agents', with his 'oxymoron quote'. At the end of the day their job is to make a deal for the seller and earn their commission, high here in Spain. So it's 'buyer beware', the best deal I ever did here was direct from a seller. He kicked out Idealista's map listings, https://www.idealista.com/en/venta-viviendas/competa-malaga/mapa-google which is a good guide to get an overview of prices in an area, many of those are private sellers who get free listings. Good luck to him, I hope get's a good deal.
Below first post .....
I realise the oxymoron of "trustworthy estate agent", but I'm ever hopeful!
We travel over in a couple of weeks to hopefully buy a small townhouse in Competa for a 2nd home. I've been in touch with few agents and even met some on our last trip over a few weeks ago, but as things are now getting serious (we are coming over to buy) I need to separate the wheat from the chaff. So to speak.
We have a great solictor in place and I can do that basic checks on a property (Cadastral etc.) myself, but it would be nice if I feel I can at least trust the agents word even just a little bit. (Can you tell I've been burnt before by Spanish agents?)
Any recommendations? Or the names of one's to avoid?
