• Caring, responsible and enthusiastic approach to working with children aged 0–3.

Hi, after a long and hard think about our lives here in the UK, we are probably more than ever, ready to explore a better way of life for ourselves and our children. Thinking about doing it and actually doing it are two different things and I'm hoping someone can give us some advice regarding everything it actually takes ( taking the rose to tinted glasses off and facial reality). A new life in the sun is our goal but we realise it may not be easy and our children our the main concern. Taking them out of their environment (friends, school,etc etc) is massive and ultimately we want what's best for them in the long run. Whilst I know it's completely possible to do, could someone send some tips, advice, where schools are, best place to settle, Access to shops, supermarkets and just general stuff which can help us decide.

Haven't posted here for a long time, but I've ended up in a bit of a strange situation and thought maybe someone here could give me some ideas.

Long story short, as part of a business deal I ended up taking a MAN van as part of the money I was supposed to receive. I don't work in transport, I've never done removals or anything like that, so this is all completely new to me.

When the van was offered to me I thought, OK, I'll take it, bring it to spain and sell it. That was basically the whole plan. Maybe I'd even manage to get a little more for it than the value I accepted it for and that would be that.

Well... the plan didn't quite work.

I drove the MAN all the way to Spain myself and somewhere along the way I have no idea what happened, but I ended up falling in love with this van.

Seriously.

It's big, I love the way it drives I love how it feels on the road and I just really enjoy being behind the wheel. I also realised something I hadn't really thought about before... I actually enjoy driving long distances

So now the MAN is here in Spain and I don't really want to sell it anymore.

And I keep thinking, if I'be already got it and I enjoy driving, why not try to actually do something with it?

The problem is I have absolutely no idea where to start.

I've started looking into the paperwork and what I need to do legally in spain, but when it comes to how this actually works in real life, I know almost nothing.

How does someone with just one van find work around the Costa del Sol? Do you work directly with private customers? Removal companies? Do bigger companies pass work on to independent drivers when they're busy? Are any of the transport platforms actually worth using or are they mostly a waste of time?

I'd also be interested in longer journeys around spain or europe. Actually, I think those are probably the ones I'd enjoy the most.

Anyway, maybe there's someone here who's worked in transport or removals and can tell me how it really works.

At the moment I'm basically sitting here with a big van that I like far too much to sell, trying to figure out what on earth I'm supposed to do with it

Please, please, if anyone finds a back pack in Torremolinos let me know. It was left by the fountains outside Torremolinos train station :( Cards have all been cancelled but kids games and nappies etc are now missing

Hi,i lost my wallet in tormolinoes in December 2022,i was in a shop beside an aquarium and i bought 2 mugs and i must have dropped my wallet there,i went to the local police station and reported it they made out a report and detailed what was inside it,i had about 100 euros and very personal photos of my wife and myself,which are irreplaceable,if somebody could enquire locally or at police station if it was handed in.kind regards Edward Poynton.
