Hello! Me and my partner are looking at property in your village to buy. We are currently living in Mijas Costa and would like to hear from anyone about what it is like to live in Villanueva del trabuco. Our interests are walking, swimming, table tennis, art, photography, pottery, sewing and gardening. How do you find the facilities in the town? We are currently learning Spanish, is there a local group? We would love to hear from anyone. Thankyou for your time!

Hi, we dont live in Trabuco but have a home there we visit regularly. We love the village. There are a good selection of shops, supermarkets, outdoor market, it has a lovely Plaza with a good selection of bars and restaurants. The village has an outdoor pool as does Rosario (the next village). I have made friends with some lovely people who live out their permanently and they all seem to love it x

Thanks for the info! Looking at a property on the outskirts of Villanueva del Trabuco to live in. Do you know roughly how many expats live there? We want a more Spanish life (currently live in Mijas Costa) but are still in the early ish stages of learning the language so a few expats would be a help. We will probably look to rent somewhere close for a couple of weeks to see how we feel, we are wondering if we will feel too isolated. Such a beautiful area. 🙂

Hi, we have a property just outside and love the place,  enough shops, restaraunts etc.  There are a number of expats and very helpful ones too. They have helped us with lots of things, from tv, internet , electrician, handyman etc. It is a very Spainish, beautiful area.  There are a few walking groups I believe, and fantastic walking trails . I am sure lots if other hobby groups too.   Go into the main square and you will meet up with the expats and lots of lovely Spanish residents.  We purchased our property not even knowing the area in 2018 and realized it was the best decision ever.  At the moment we get out as much as we can but cannot wait until we can move permanently.  Good luck and maybe see you in the square one day.

Hi Nadine, thanks very much for your input. It sounds like a very friendly place! We bought over here 8 years ago but moved over permanently when we took early retirement 2 1/2 years ago. Hope it all works out for us, and we meet some day in the plaza! 😁

There are quite a number of ex-pats in Trabuco and the locals are very friendly as well. I do live in the village and it is great. Plaza is always busy in the evenings and there are some nice bars and restaurants in the village. Do not be too concerned about the ex-pats, they tend to keep to themselves in theri groups
