Cooking a meal and companionship - Page 2

Hi people are recommending you 🤗 but could you cook for her if I told you what she can eat? E.g 2small filets of chicken with boiled potatoes, and either fresh veg or frozen veg cooked on the hob or microwave. Small filet of fish veg etc, mushroom omelette potatoes. Easy to buy coldpuds. Sandwich, or a Complan type drink , full of goodness🤗🤗. Chatting, taking for a coffee or a walk. Do you think would be within your scope ??

Yes I cook these types of food on a daily basis.

I think it would be beneficial if we can all meet up. It would be easier talking face to face.  I can go into more depth bout my experience as a carer and I would like to meet the lady first.

Any chance we could meet up today, as we are meeting up with Dino a v.good friend of Valerie’s, who is willing to help us, to make a plan for her future. Then of course she will have to agree, and we would have to agree amongst all of us, then take you to meet her in due course . Do you have any references?

So this lady hasnt agreed for  care for herself yet.   I find this quite worrying .  In all my years as a carer the client usually has to  agree before a plan is put into place.

I am aware that you want the best for this lady and are worried about her  Im really sorry i cant meet you today as i have a prior appointment.

Let me know what happens at the meeting i am willing to meet up at a later date.

Sorry my references are back in england.

Perhaps a trial period would be beneficial.

Don’t worry, I would never force any of this on her, just wanted to chat with you and Dino, she lost her husband a year ago, weighs 46kg doesn’t cook for herself, been self medicating, hadn’t seen a doctor for yrs, so we we have , and still are taking her to doctors, hospital appts. Has permanent pressure in her head,and stomach problems. Had a brain scan, all clear, but short term memory loss, a gastro ultrasound, followed by a colonoscopy. Diagnosed with .divaticulitis. Back to see surgeon dec.

Sores on her face, diagnosed skin cancer. Having plastic surgery on her nose in dec. reads a lot, had her eyes tested badly need prescription glasses for short sightedness, picking those up. Wondering if this could be the reason for the pressure in her head, we will see. Came to stay with us for 5days after her op, and she had 3meals of the right sort, loved it, kept it down, and never stopped talking, and repeating things over and over again🤣🤣. Now she’s back at home, with jars of baby food and frozen veg, which I have showed her how to do in micro, cold pads purred fruit,and other bits and clear notes on day to day things, I also do her mediation in pill boxes on a weekly bases,that’s all I can do for now.

We’ve only known her for about 9 months, lovely lady, very well travelled, but absolutely no family. We got ourselves into this, no way we are giving up on her now, but we have worked hard all our lives, looked after my mum for yrs, and we are now retired, and looking for a peaceful life, without the day to day worry. I am sure you are doing an excellent job but I know how demanding and time consuming it can be

I live in Torrox and although I cannot commit to the meal preparation, would be very pleased to call in on a regular basis. (I used to own a care home and am very interested in 'memory loss'). Alison
