if you are selling your property in UK and want to move the bank address ie to a relatives addresss  then be aware that your uk bank may ask for proof of your residence there ie driving licence ,bill, pasport etc and also ensure you have onlinw access

I went in spain to Cajamar but could equally have gone to sabatell as others didnt want to know till i had TIE

english friends in spain said they had a deal with private health insurance and charges at sabatell

Dont wait till October -do your groundwork now

I found the people at Chorus financial helpful  as pension plannig is VERY important ie 25%lump sum is taxable in Spain so if you can claim this before resident here !!!

We have just moved here and were warned off of opening an account with Santander.

We have gone with Sabadell who seem to be OK so far. They charge 40 euros account fee per quarter but once you become resident that reduces significantly.

generally people here have advised me to keep as little as I can in a spanish account and just use Revolut.

We’re currently being charged eight euros a month by Santander and feel that’s money for old rope. They even charge us €2.90 to take money out of a Santander machine from our Portuguese Santander account.

Roll on the financial reset, when all these banking criminals are taken down!
