We are due to fly back to the UK on the 31st of March. I know the lockdown starts on the 16th for fifteen days which takes us to the day before we fly out, what I am wondering is is there a possibility for the lockdown to be extended?

I was thinking of moving our flights back a week but unsure what to do.

Hi Cjohncamp,

I do not know the answer to your question as I think anything is possible at the moment. I have a similar problem. We are due to fly out on 5th April and we are worried that we will not be able to fly out. Also, would we be silly to fly out with all this going on? The situation is the same in the UK so my thinking is, I might as well be in Spain as in the UK. Any advice or thoughts very welcome. x

I would rather be cooped up in Spain than in England.

The situation is changing daily and will almost certainly be the same or similar in the UK soon. Stay put if you can. If being house or apartment bound is the worst that you have to endure then you're probably getting off quite lightly.

I am in the UK and in 4 weeks or less we may also be on lockdown. I know a lot of older people are self isolating

On the U.K. news last night it said that all non essential flights to and from U.K. are now cancelled for 30 days.

Hi, I've just driven my mother-in-law to Malaga airport to fly back to the UK.  As long as the airlines are running you should be fine to go out but, as many have pointed out, getting back could be more difficult.  A Guardia Civil friend of a friend said taking people to the airport was allowable but recommended no more than two in the car and to have proof of purpose at all times.  I took a copy of M-i-L's boarding pass with me for out and return car journey.  All that being said, I saw no police at the airport and there were lots of hire cars and drop offs that had 4/5 people in them.  Everything at the airport was very calm and plenty of room to keep your 'social space' distance.  On a full Ryanair flight back to the UK, social space will be significantly reduced!
