Hi George, there is a big supermarket in Antequera called Carrefour that you can buy just about everything for your home re electrics ect. There is what we call the ‘chino’s’ in Mollina itself. They are everywhere inSpain. Big shops run by Chinese that sell everything cheap. But you do have to be careful re quality of stuff, but great for crockery, pots/pans, basic stuff all homes need. There are lots of smaller family run shops you can get bargains in if you shop around and of course the weekly markets. There is a mainly English market held on a Wednesday at Saydo itself. Some Spanish stalls but not a lot. A local Spanish market in the village itself on a Tuesday morning. Great fruit/veg stall there plus other stuff. A huge local market at Antequera on a Tuesday morning, sells all sorts of stuff, great bargains. And there are others dotted about the area, not sure of their times/days.
There is two English bars/restaurants in the town. Margaritas and Bar Flores. Opposite ends of town, both good and both have websites/Facebook pages. There is an ‘Irish’ pub called PepeJohns in the village, but it’s Spanish owned. Nice and quirky inside, lots of Brits go there as they do Karaoke twice a week. Join What’s on in Mollina page and you will see what’s going on, here and in surrounding villages.
good luck with your move xx
