Hi myself and my husband are interested in retiring permanently to one of the residential mobile home parks in Mollina.

How much do we need in the bank as savings and how much monthly income do we need? After purchasing our mobile home

on the park?

Are you already resident in Spain?

Are you UK or Irish passport holders?

UK - Since Brexit, If you are not currently resident in Spain but want to permanently retire here you will first need to apply for a Non Lucrative Visa.  This process starts in the UK at the Spanish Embassy (London or Manchester). Financial requirements are income approx 28K per year + 6ish for each dependant. Have to evidence this 3 times in first 5 years. Contact the Embassy for accurate figures and process.

Ireland - still part of the EU so less complicated.

Hiya

We have just returned from visiting three residential parks near Mollina.

All are very nice, clean and peaceful.   But after visiting a local bar and talking to expats, we were told to rent a property.

We have since looked into it and to rent a house in the area (long term) costs the same as the yearly ground rent.

Something to think about before the expense of buying a van and getting to know the area.

Inland was abit of a culture shock to our usual coastal holidays.

Good Luck

Elaine

Hi Elaine

I would strongly recommend renting for at least a year before making a substantial purchase.

If you are then happy with your environment you can take that step a little wiser than jumping in with both feet.

The cost won't be much difference than normal ownership expenses.

Hi Elaine

We brought on a park and regret not renting first. As with all communities there are politics cliques, and some people can be quite nasty. As well as the ground rents to which seem to be increasing each year. Don’t rush into anything like we did.
