Good morning everybody  ðŸ˜ŠI’m new to this website, it looks like a great way to find out more about life as an expat in Marbella. My family and I have enjoyed many a nice holiday in Marbella, it’s a destination we love. We have recently been thinking about renting over there for 6 months to a year with a view to possibly buying a 2 bed flat over there.  My husband and I are a young at heart couple in our mid fifties.

One of our main concerns however is what is life like during the winter months. We would be very grateful for any advise from anybody who is living over there. 😊

Hi Deana

Welcome to the forum.

You may not live in Spain for more than 90 days out of 180 days a year. This is a Brexit Rule. You would probably need to apply for a Non-lucrative Visa and then start your Residence process. See link below for further reading  before you make any decisions.

LOL - I think you do not have to be 'young at heart' in your 50's.  You are still young!!  Winter in Spain can be colder than people think it is.  The weather though is on and off.  Alot of beautiful days.  Usually March is the wettest month. But still you can get out and about most the year and more and more events are opening up.

The winter months are nice in some ways because there is less tourism and hiking is easier without the heat.  Also its nice to curl up inside with a fire going and a good book.

Enjoy!
