How would you deal with this?

We are having work done to our house and the builders were great, but they didn’t complete before we had to return to U.K. since we have been back in the U.K. all work has stopped and I can see from photos sent by a neighbour that materials we did not ask for are waiting to be fitted. I have contacted the builder to ask about why work has stopped and the materials. I was told they couldn’t gain access to the community. That’s bullcrap. It’s not a locked community (except for a few gates) and they never contacted me to ask about it. They put the materials down to a misunderstanding, but that’s bullcrap too. Now they’re avoiding my messages and calls. How would you deal with this? Any similar experiences?
