Hi Jenni, Fuente de Piedra a lovely village with a good amount of ex pat community. The square is a lovely place to sit and have a drink and tapas. It has an English shop for all those necessary items you can't buy in Spain - the pasties and tea cakes are to die for!
You have some lovely countryside around and there is also the donkey sanctuary and flamingo lakes on your doorstep.
I will say, however, that up until recently they had water problems whereby, although there is tap water for showering etc. bottled water is what is used for cooking drinking etc. but do believe they are in the process of creating a new well to provide the village again with fresh water.
Another point to make out that being inland so far it can get extremely hot in the summer (reaching temperatures of 40 degrees plus) and can be very cold in the winter.
There are some lovely properties there and you would be positioned right near the motorway for access to the Malaga coast and other areas.
Happy house hunting.
