As an USA expat I wonder if is cheaper living here in costa del sol.

According to Numbeo, the cost of living index in Benalmadena is 51.12, while in Wisconsin, it is 64.36. This means that overall, the cost of living in Benalmadena is lower than in Wisconsin.

Some of the factors contributing to this difference could be:

  1. Housing: The average cost of rent or purchasing property in Benalmadena is lower than in Wisconsin? Mmmm I dont know. The cost of utilities in Spain is also generally lower than in the United States (not electrical bills!).

  2. Food: The cost of groceries and eating out is also generally lower in Benalmadena than in Wisconsin.

  3. Healthcare: Healthcare costs are generally lower in Spain than in the United States (a lot in my experience).

  4. Transportation: Public transportation is cheaper in Benalmadena than in Wisconsin ( very good and clean.)

Overall, the lower cost of living in Benalmadena makes it an attractive destination for those looking to relocate or retire abroad. However, it is important to keep in mind that the cost of living can vary depending on individual lifestyles and needs.

what do you think?

Have you taken into account tax on income and pensions acquired from outside Spain? Tax rates are high in Spain.
