Looking for recommendations: Planning to make some alterations to our Villa in Alhaurin el Grande area (additional bathroom, refit bathroom, additional wc/cloakroom) and looking for recommendations for a builder to come and chat through our options. Preferably English speaking.
Also looking for recommendations on where to buy the bathroom fittings (toilet/sink/cabinets).

Hi I have had a property for many years in Alora. The property was extended in 2012/2013 by local builders. In 2013 we received a Notice from Malaga court saying the property is illegal and was given a fine. Paid the fine and was told by local layer this was the finish of our case. Then in 2019 was give a demolition notice on the property. I have been fighting this now since then and have spent a lot of money on legal fees etc. With no prospects of getting this order take off the property. My wife and l are both in our late 70 and find is very upsetting that we have been treated so badly. Be very carefully who you get advice from and check things over with more than a local so called expert. I have been given so much bad advise over the years. Good luck with your project and be very careful who you employ.

That´s very sad to hear but it isn´t the first time I have heard such stories. I second this advice, be careful who you choose. To many builders here picked up their qualifications on the plane over.
Stick with Protec (952 587 573) they have an in-house architect dept so can ensure everything will be legal and safe/correct.
