Hi folks, we are moving to the Costa del Sol in 24/25. We were originally thinking of basing ourselves around Benalmadena, but now believe it might be too touristy to make good friends.

Now considering Alhaurin de la Torre, is there an expat community,  is there an area or local pub/restaurant where expats meet?

Is there a night life in A de la T, or is life lived mainly during the day?

All help is appreciated 😎

Hi Zoe,

Not sure whether there is anything formal regarding expat groups but we have loved in AdT for 18 months and would love to meet up with others.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for replying.

We are hopefully coming up to AdT on Wednesday to have a look around, you never know we might find something 😀

Hello! What is your age group? I can then offer advice.

Cheers, Jan

Hello,Ah , then I suspect you are wanting a bit of both daytime and evening social opportunities. We are in our seventies , however still enjoy live entertainment in the evening and long lunches in the day. We are a little further down the coast from AdlT , in Calahonda. It is perfectly positioned for a bus to Marbella west and Finguerola to the east for nightlife and shopping.  We attend a social group at a local club - coffee mornings 2x weekly and they are an adjunct to Age Spain who also offer classes in Spanish , a 15 Euro per hour translation service and other support services. Locally, Val Williams offers two activity outings per month , Transport to dinner /theatre nights and a lunch event. See the Facebook page Simply Thriving for an idea of what goes on. Good luck! Jan

Hi! I'm 55 and we are moving there in July. You are very much welcome to get in touch if you like. I can't offer much knowledge thus far, but in 24/25 I hope to be an expert :)

Hi Andy, I might get in touch with you myself actually. We're moving to Pinos in July and would love to meet 'locals'. Looks like we're essentially the same age as well :)

Hi, we moved to Pinos on Arroyo de la Miel last September and had been busy with the renovations, which are almost completed.
We absolutely love the town and find people very friendly and helpful. Would love to meet up, we are in our 60’s.

Jitu and Sally.
