Yes you can get reductions for both bus and train. You have to apply for a Tareja Dorada (golden ticket) for the train. You can do this at any train station where there is an office. The pensioners card for the bus allows you to travel within the Fuengirola area for 50c. I suppose it’s the same for any area you choose to settle in. You can apply for this from the town hall. At least they will point you in the right direction.

You can get discounts on train journeys but not the bus

Go to the train station with your passport pay €6 for a years discounts needs to be renewed annually 

It’s called tarjeta dorada you get 40% off all train journeys in Spain Monday to Thursday and 20% off Friday Saturday and sundays

I'm a retiree and have a card for both train and bus as I explained in my previous post. Not sure where you're based Tinks but in the Fuengirola area I can travel by bus for 50c as opposed to the full fare of 1.30 euros.

Go to the ayuntamiento in Fuengirola with your passport and residencia and they will help you to get your bus pass. That’s what I did and found them to be very helpful. You can also go to the casa de jubliado in Fuengirola. You’ll have to ask locally for directions to get there. It’s walkable from the train station in Fuengirola. Hope this helps.
