What do my wife and I need to open a bank account in Frigiliana ? Could anybody recommend one .We will be moving there next autumn but would like to put some money away in a local bank in the interim to try to mitigate the expected fluctuations in the currency market.

Hi, I recently opened one in Antequera although my Spanish lawyer went with me. I had to take Passport, British National Insurance Number and my Spanish NIE. It was a relatively easy process (with the lawyer on board). I had to collect my bank card on a later occasion. I cannot recommend one or another but I used Unicaja.
We are UK based but hoping to buy somewhere in Spain soon. We also used Unicaja but in Competa. All we needed was our UK NI numbers and the NIE numbers and it was all set up. No involvement from our lawyer other than arranging our NIE numbers.
