Hi we used to have a place in Competa, and we really did like it, only trouble was the drive up from coast first and second gear in the car most of the way, I would say go for Torrox

Hi corrine

I have a house in algarrobo pueblo it is the village that you go through to get to competa it is only 5 mins by car to the coast or  a 30 min walk it is a lovely friendly village and house prices are cheaper than competa it’s worth a look

All the best in your search and hope you find somewhere

Bill

We’re in Algarrobo also. As Bill will know, mainly Spanish people here, fine with us. We did meet a Brit couple at El Benito, nice to know there’s at least one more in this lovely town & maybe more if Corrine likes the town

Hi thanks for the info....so there is a steep hill up to Competa?  What are your thoughts on El Morche?

Hi it all depends on what you are looking for, El Morche, yes on the coast but not much going on, I always think it looks a bit downtrodden ☹️

We are looking for a house with pool just outside a village where we can have easy access to a community, a village and a beach.  We would rather live out in the country because we have two largish dogs who love to roam the countryside.  Preferable 5 to 10 mins to a village by car and about 20 or 30 mins to the sea and promenade, bar restaurants etc.  I hope we are not asking for the impossible !!

Hi Chris we are coming out to view some properties in Competa on the 11th February at 10.30. Perhaps we could meet you for a beer in the afternoon if its convenient for you. That would be great because we can get some hints and advice from you. Thank you. Looking forward to meeting you.
