Hola! We will be staying for the first time in Casares, arriving just before Christmas and staying well after the new year. We would love to know what to expect in terms of festivals and celebrations in the town and down on the coast. We know Christmas Eve will be quiet as everyone celebrates with family, but is there anything we mustn’t miss?

Thanks for any tips you can give. Very excited about our first Spanish Christmas!

Hi Julie, we will also be spending Xmas and new year in the village. I can’t give you exact dates because I think it changes depending on the day xmas falls. Around the 21/22nd the village becomes a living nativity play depicting scenes along the streets. Bars lively and stay open late. Also on the 6 th of Jan there is the celebration of the 3 kings. Hope this helps jenni

Glad info was useful, if you see a couple not happed up in coat and scarf that will be us. The good folk of casares wrap up once it falls below 18 degrees 😂
