Hola to everyone!

I am in the process of buying an old finca with an old Spanish cess pit (pozo negro) and I’m really hoping not to have to renew it! I will be living here up to 6 months per year (and there’s only 2 of us)

I’m aware of not flushing paper, nappies etc down loo and have been told that you can buy ‘tea-like’ bags from mercadona to be flushed in loo periodically to help break down bio waste but my question is:

Do liquids like bleach, fabric conditioner soaps and bath oils have any effects on its function?

Gracias J

i once installed a bio tank , it wasnt just a case of digging a hole and plonking it in ..dig hole with exevator and lay 40-50 mil concrete 5-6 inch in normal measures , then lower tank in..surround tank with sand , then back fill , not forgetting the inlet pipe needs to be joined and the vent pipe exposed ..n.b. all mesauements are appox and not true..before some remainer comes on and says lol

make sure you have at least 6 inch sand surrounding the tank , it needs to move

Thanks for speedy reply.

The deposit tank is approx 10 metres from property. I have no idea what its construction is and neither does the agent or neighbour know. It is old could be 50yrs old so I will have to research how the Spanish used to build them. Thanks again for your comment.
