Second hand cars
Hi, we are buying a place in Benahavis and are considering buying a used car to leave at our new home in Spain. Where is the best place to look for used cars, check prices/availabilty etc?

Very helpful member
Used cars extremely expensive in Spain, many with very high millage Spanish keep a long time, new better value.
I note many dealers putting a finance price per day. https://www.concesionarios.seat/cormosa/ofertas-dw
By the way, Brits who moved here post Brexit still waiting for new to exchange licence, keep promising and nothing yet, many of us can't drive,
Good luck. https://www.surinenglish.com/spain/spanish-governments-driving-20230208130829-nt.html

I have an excellent in good condition 3.8 litre, 2 door, left hand drive 2007 Pajero GLS mileage 98,000kms approx.and covered a trailer on Wallopop for €6,950 car and €500 the trailer. This is a great vehicle which I am only selling because I have sold and am leaving Spain. This is under market value at €7,500/€8,500. I live in Benahavis also. Tele +34 608686960 or +44 7949859418. I return to Spain on 12 April and have 19 potential buyers and 9 with very keen interest who I will contact upon my return. I will sell to the first serious buyer by bankers draft.

Hi
I would look in to the price of hiring before you buy as I was going to do the same as you when I first got a holiday home
Cars are very expensive in Spain and involves a lot of paper work
I hire a car and pick it up at the airport and return it to the airport
If you have your own car you still have the expense of getto and from the airport on top of the money your paying for a car
Hope this helps
Billy
Hi Les,
I totally agree with the first replier.
Used cars here are very expensive for what they are.
Some of the terrain here puts huge pressure on the suspension, drive train, and steering of a vehicle.
There are very good deals to be had when buying new.
I too am waiting to exchange my UK driving licence, and when that's done, I seriously am weighing up the advantages of hiring a new vehicle.
Good luck, or rather, make your luck by buying new and have the security of knowing exactly, what your running costs will be.
