Archidona is a lovely village and has lots to offer, so does Trabuco, a few miles away. Both have ex-pats there and lots of support for you.

We have just moved to Archidona from Almería region. The area has everything we need. Although it is a prominent Spanish town, everyone is very friendly, with a small expat community, but a very helpful one, hope this helps,
