Gardening in rhonda

Hi I was looking at the Rhonda area as a place to maybe reside but think it might be too hot! for gardening all year?

Well it is southern Spain so yes it does get hot in the summer months but that said it's at altitude so it's generally cooler than down on the coast. As for being too hot to garden....that all rather depends on what you plan to grow. I guess you simply have to adjust for the climate and think Mediterranean as opposed to English countryside. And, if you plan to do it yourself, adjust your hours of toiling to suit the weather. Siestas were thought of for a reason :)

I was thinking in order to keep a green garden a lot of irrigation and shade is needed and possibly quite a bit of soil I'm not talking about lawns but wild type gardens where the lawn area is replaced by plants I think you need to install trees first to give you max shade and shelter. I wonder if their any garden designers that have better knowledge advice.

I'm not knowledgeable enough to give any real advice but hopefully there will be someone who is green fingered with first hand knowledge of the region who can give you better insight. My knowledge is very limited so good luck!
