Hi we are booked on the euro tunnel 6th January to travel on to Spain, France have a only essential only travel ban at the moment so we had given up as the ferry to Santander had no dog accommodation. But we are not sure if we can travel through France if we spend less than 24 hours in international zone, has anyone travelled through from the UK since the 18th  December?

We are in the same position as you travelling on the 8th, yes it only applys to airports. we are waiting to call birmingham airport we live in essex!, as Iberia airline take dogs for around 100 euros each, ba also do it but refer you to a pet transport company who want 2600 for two dogs which is so much money. we have sold our house and we are completing on the 7th so have to leave that day. have got removals coming on the 6th. I now hate the french. terrible isnt it all we had to do was jump in the car with the two dogs (one of which is a massive neopolitan mastiff) and drive though eurotunnel and just drive to spain , now its a major headache.

good luck to you

Jan

Hi Jan Thanks for your reply it confirms what I had thought. We are travelling with a GSD and had planned to stay in Competa for 3 months while exploring the area for somewhere to buy. Hopefully you find a way to get there with your dogs. I  think we will have to wait for the French to lift the restrictions.

I'm not sure how this will help as I would still need to enter France at some stage.

Unfortunately the ferry to Bilbao doesn't run  until April
