I need to renew my Spanish Driving Licence soon and wondered where I go for a medical in the Alora, Coin area.

I don't know about Coin and Alora, but I just renewed mine in Cartama Estacion at Lacibis Clinic. It a private Health Clinic that also does driving licence renewal  tests.

What is the medical like. What do they test?

I'm 80 years old so my license expired due to my age. The test is not medical, but they test your eyesight and also your reactions to a gadget that moves on a screen. They also ask if you have any medical conditions. The lady tester discovered I have poor eyesight in my left eye so she told me to get glasses for driving. I have been given a license for two years,  expires in February 2026. Not as long as I wanted. I haven't been to the Opticians yet, but I plan to go. Better safe than sorry.

I went to Cartama Estación which is near Alora. About 30km. The Clinic is private and called Lacibis. It has Clinics in Coin and Alhaurin el Grande. They are on Google. It is a private Clinic. You need your Spanish driving licence and your NIE. Take your car insurance as well. After taking the test. They will tell you to get driving glasses if you have bad eyesight. After two weeks, you will receive your new driving licence  in the Post.

Hi Mosquera, your advice is spot on, thank you. We just called into the Labicis Clinic in Cartama Estación for an appoinment and they did did the renewal straight away. They took the photos, did the eyesight and reflex test and gave me a temporary paper licence until we receive the new one through the post. 38 euros as DGT don't charge for licence renewals for over 65's so only Labisis costs. So much easier than getting photos medical etc and then going up to tráfico which we used to do.

Cheers, Andrew

Heres a link to the Centres for Drivers Medical Certs from Citizens Advice Spain.

https://www.citizensadvice.org.es/faq/centres-for-driving-licence-medicals/

If you google Centros de Reconocimiento de Conductores Coin or Centros de Reconocimiento de Conductores Alora a list and map will come up.
