I have heard that under current Brexit proposals it may be that as a UK national, I may not be permitted to stay in Spain for more than 90 days in any period of 180 days. Is this correct?

Obtaining residency would I assume solve that problem. If one obtains residency does that mean all UK generated income becomes taxable in Spain and how would that affect my UK state and private pensions?

Any advice would be appreciated

We have our residents permit due to the reason's you said..its best to get help from a Hester..they are similar to a solicitor.. it's really worth it...we now have to tell our pensions people that we are living in Spain or  we will get taxed twice.. once in UK and again in Spain...

After Brexit as a visitor you can only stay for 90 days within 180 days.  Long stays will no longer be possible.  If you plan to stay for more than 90 days you will need to apply for residency.  If you apply for residency it is assumed that this is your main home and if you live in Spain for more than 183 days of a year you are liable to pay tax in Spain.  If you need any more help or would like me to put you in touch with someone that can help please message me.

Many thanks.

It would be helpful if you could direct me to someone who could give me further guidance.

Sorry for late reply..if you are resident in Spain you need to inform your pension providers in the UK.. if you don't you will be taxed by both Spain and UK... hope that helps..
