Moving from Extremadura to Málaga this summer

Hello, I am English and moving with my partner this summer to either live in Málaga or Torremolinos.
I have been living in Extremadura for 14 years and looking to move to la costa del sol . I am a teacher of English and start a job in an academy in September.
My question is: because i am on a tight budget, is it better to find a rented apartment in Torremolinos or Málaga city? I am looking to spend 550 euros a month for 2 bedrooms. I am not aware if there are better deals in Torremolinos or Málaga for that price.
