90 days in 180 is on a rolling basis from Jan 1 2021. In other words you can stay 90 days from 1 Jan but must leave for 90 days before coming back. Way around the problem is stay 30 days, leave for 30 days and do that all year round without flouting the rules. Very surprised the PIGS countries in particular who are very dependent on tourism agreed to this as it affects their lucrative industry. It's already resulted in many Brits putting their homes for sale, no point if you can only stay half the year and where residencia was not an option from their point of view. Residencia is not a good idea for all people mainly due to taxation and loss of UK rights.

I so agree with what you say viz a vie Brits selling as they don't want residencia but are prepared to spend all their pensions in Spain. Think if the EU keep up with their anti Brit  nastiness they will shoot themselves in the foot.
