With a view to moving out here, we want to have our first inspection of Competa and other white villages. For our 1st visit in October, we thought 3 nights in Competa and over the 3 days have a look at Torrox pueblo, Sayalonga, Avenas Malaga and Algarrobo.

Then stay in Almachar for 2 nights and visit Comares, Benamocarra, Benamargosa and Iznate.

Does this seem realistic? Has anyone else done anything similar? It would be lovely to hear from other people who live in or nearby these villages. Perhaps we could meet up when we visit. All advice would be appreciated. Post here or private message me. Thanks in advance

We moved just outside competa earlier this year, having been on holiday in the area a few

times. We rented first for several months, but to be honest, would recommend 12 months rental, to get a proper feel of the area and life in Spain.

Would you recommend it?

Once we narrow down, where we want to stay, we will then have to come and stay for longer periods before the big move.

Hi,

We did just that with a view to staying for  6 months.

We chose Competa as it felt just right..

We are due to travel out end August..I am sure you too will appreciate how laid back and friendly Competa is..

Enjoy your visit.

I’ve visited all the villages you mention and we chose Competa.    I would also recommend a long term rent before you buy.   Good luck!
