Looking for car hire from Malaga airport for 10 !  Probably best option is 2 cars (5 seater) both with additional drivers who would be 24 & 22 years old.  Any suggestions on local company or are we best using companies based in the airport - coming out late August (hopefully !)

I thoroughly recommend malagacar.com. They are by far the cheapest and I cannot fault them.

Hi,

We normally hire using a search engine such as 'DoyouSpain' to see who is offerring best deals and have used both on and off airport services. Our last car hire was about a year ago due to covid but normally We hire Malaga Airport Vehicles vehicles for 10 - 12 weeks/year and have learned a few things:-

1) We take out an annual insurance top up policy with ,carhireexcess.com  about £52/year but shorter policys available. This means that you don't take the hirers insurance and have have circ 800 euro reserve against your credit card.

2) Do not hire for more than 2 weeks at a time if you can help it. If longer required consider making consecutive bookings and go back to airport and swap car. Normally much cheaper and has less restriction on kms.

3) Good/Bad experiences - Had a delivery driver reverse into our Firefly hire car damaging wing, bonnet and spoiler. On return to airport the damage was quickly assesses and We had to pay 450 euro (Was expecting more). Claimed against our carhireexcess.com policy and received our money back. They in turn, recovered the cost of the damages  from the delivery drivers insurance.  We have reused Firefly several times since.

Returned a car to OK car Hire which on inspection was deemed to have a small surface scratch (less than 20mm) not even through paint and forced to pay 250 euro. When we complained the agent just laughed and said that we should have taken their insurance. Again claimed on our 'carhireexcess.com' policy and received monies back within 30 days. Now hirer of last resort!

However! Using advice above we have had some super deals - I think the cheapest was 10 euro for 2 weeks hire of a seat leon.

Hope this helps
