do i have to pay any tax when buying a property
do i have to pay any tax when buying a property
do i have to pay any tax when buying a property
A short question with a wide ranging answer. The short answer is yes. Take a look here as it explains things quite well:
https://www.spanishpropertyinsight.com/buying-property-in-spain/costs/
Basically, however, you will pay a property transfer tax if you buy a resale, VAT and stamp duty if you buy a new build. Income tax on the property annually. Plus, of course, the various fees associated with a property purchase, notary fees, estate agency fees, mortgage (if you requite one) fees, the list goes on and, at the time, feels like its never ending but it does settle down (eventually).
Don't let all that put you off, you just need to be aware of it and factor it all in.
I hope that helps.
