Hi Sarah

Thx so much for such a prompt reply! Darn we are flying back on Sunday 3rd - both got to go back to our jobs - :-( . Will message when we are out next though because it would be lovely to meet up. Shall I PM you my mobile number / email because it nice to have a chat when in UK? Quite an adventure this isn't it? We have been lucky as the English guy who looked after the place for the previous owner is looking after it for us. Has already done us some retiling. Would have been lost without him.

Am I right the nearest big supermarket is the Eski or the Carrefoure in Malaga? Have you found your garden centre yet. I am looking for a water fountain for our patio. I think there is one as part of Leroy Merlin but was not looking at the time - that and Brickomart both very good for DIY BTW.

Regards

Bonita and Glyn

Hi Sarah and Gail.

I hope you don't mind me butting in but we have just brought a holiday home in the sister village to Trabuco and I saw from your replies (about the only ones on this forum) that you both are in a similar situation. We are here right now for new year. We looked at loads in Trabuco over the last 12...

... months but wanted a pool and we are only 5 minutes away. It would be great to trade tips/ recommendations etc - if you did get in contact. Regards Bonnie and Glyn

Hi

Nice to hear from more nebies. we passed through Rosario on the bus to Trabuco, looks lovely. Are you planning to use it as a holiday home too? Whereabouts in the UK are you? Gail

Hi Sarah, Gail and Bonnie,

Hope you don't mind me butting in as well! I've also got a holiday home in Trabuco which I've owned for six years, so I now know quite a bit about the area, although, since this thread is quite elderly I'm guessing you all know far more now too!

I love Trabuco but just don't get as much chance to visit as I'd like. I'm over this summer for 9 weeks with my daughter though, which is great (long summer break between college and university). My husband is over too but sadly not for as long as someone has to work (and look after the cat).

Anyway I just thought I'd introduce myself and maybe if any of you are around in the summer this will be a little icebreaker as it's always nice to meet new people in the village, so feel free to say 'hi' (I'll post a photo) x

Hi Inga

Loverly to hear from you. Yes it would be great to meet up sometime. We are out the first 2 weeks of June this year, but have not booked any further ahead yet.

Wonderful to spend 9 weeks out there, that is our plan, but we have an old dog that we can't leave for longer than 2 weeks at a time, and we can't bring him out with us, as he would hate the heat and not cope with the stress of travel.

Where do you live? We live in Scotland. We are both retired so don't need to worry about work, which is great, so we can please ourselves when we come  out, more or less.

Yes we love Trabuco very much, the ambience  and friendliness of the town make it very welcoming. and we always feel like we are coming home each time.

It is very likely  that we will be out again in the summer, so chances are high that we could meet.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes Sarah and John xx

Hi Sarah and John,

Thanks for your reply. We live in Hartlepool in the North East of England. We're going across in the middle of June and returning near the end of August, so if you are out again we could well see you.

We normally hire a car while Paul, my husband is across, but when it's just me and my daughter we use public transport which can be a bit limiting. We've managed to explore the area a lot over the years though so I do know some interesting places to visit.

Have you visited Granada yet? If not it's a great place to go, I love it there!

Nice to chat to you x

There’s a nice garden centre, small, in Rosario. Next to the swimming pool.
