I'm emptying a small apartment in Torrox Costa and want to give some stuff to a charity or good cause where it will be useful: bath towels, blankets, bedlinen etc. any suggestions please?
There is a dog rescue charity shop called TAIL in Torrox Pueblo which would take the items you mention. I believe they also have shop in Torrox Costa in Avda del Faro 10. Here is the link for the charity https://tailtorrox.es/contact_us

I wonder if there might also be a charity supporting families?

There is cudeca which has 2 shops in torre del mar furniture and general incl clothes books etc
The charity is for hospice care
