We have now purchased our lovely little townhouse in Torrox. We have inherited a water heater/ boiler which works and supplies water to taps and shower - though not a great amount ! We have the handbook but it does not mention the brand, or the type , or the size.

If it similar to an immersion heater I would think it must have a switch somewhere so we can switch it off but we can't really see one. It has a label - Woll- on the front but not found that make in any research . Anyone got any ideas?

 thanks

 Kiki

Not sure what brand, but looks like one of the cheaper versions, with no thermostat? if no switch on machine should be on the wall. If without thermostat would have no economy setting, normally pre-set to  75C economy is 65C and even cheaper to run about 55C. Or is that a slider control at the bottom?

Hi Holaitsdavid. No switch to be seen , just plugged into the wall . The handbook says it has a thermostat but as the handbook has no pictures and does not say what model it is , who knows. In essence I don't want it running all day long. When my son leaves tomorrow , he will switch off electricity at the consumer box and I will pick up the baton when I arrive next month ..

 thank you

I see the plug which can be 'pulled out', when you are living there, you could put a basic on off timer in that, I note appears to be no thermostat.

If you look at this link base models have no thermostat control & no economy settings, they are fixed temperature and just plug in.  .

Great idea about the timer! I've looked at the link to leroymerlin and they seem to get reasonable reviews for quality and price , and for simplicity. As I do not know how old this heater is, I would think it would be useful to get it serviced, to get it descaled ( don't want legionnaires!!),  if it isn't extortionate.

Thanks for great advice once more Holaitsdavid- much appreciated

You won't get Legionnaires unless very low temperature, further it's a sealed unit so descale not easy, it could even block the outlet pipes, you might be best to run with a timer, does not look that old, long term change to a more serious one, like in link, with dual elements, so you can run at 1 or 2 kilowatts and control the temperature. The cost of any servicing suspect will be greater than it's worth. . .

Hi Bryan61.  Thanks very much for this recommendation . Might need that in the future.

It seems to be running fine at the moment so will monitor and fit the timer to manage electricity input.

Probably our first job will be to assess /get service for air con which looks pretty ancient.

Thank you for your interest..

Hi not 100% but if it has a thermostat thy  have automatic shut of when the water get to a certain temperature   so it does not over heat but a timer switch if not would be best
