Hello , we are a couple in our 70 's but are still quite active. We are thinking of moving to Spain for the winter months and fancy the Torrox area, however we are not sure what to buy. We are looking at the Torrox Park as we think there are things to do there and it would be  easier to meet people, or do we buy an apartment and join things. What is there to join to give us a bit of a social life ? We currently play bowls, like dancing and quizzes.Any information at this stage would be most helpful.

Many thanks

Hi,

There's loads to do in and around Torrox. Torrox Park certainly has an active social calendar for British people but, wherever you live you won't be short of things to do. Lots of us volunteer with the local dog rescue charity, so you can even foster a furry friend while you are here! Like anywhere, it's what you make it so, if you want a quiet life that's possible, too. It's a great place to live.

Many thanks

Hi,

There are so many, it's hard to know where to start! I found the best thing when I got here was just to get out and see what was around. Often, it works best if you find something by talking to people, and Torrox Park will be easy for that.

I must admit, TP doesn't appeal to me personally, I don't think it's the kind of life I want in Spain. But, a lot of people do like it, and living there clearly suits them. That's why it's so difficult to be specific about things to do or clubs to join. I think the best approach is to get out and about and decide for yourselves what works for you and what doesn't.

Like yourselves, we are a retired couple who have decided to come out to Competa not far from Torrox, for six months in September.

We have found a beautiful rented villa which allows us time to decide which area suits us long term....

We are to be in the countryside but only a 10 minute drive from the lovely Spanish village of Competa which appears to have lots going on..

I hope you find your special place, Torrox is quite close to where we are to be staying, perhaps we will  meet up on our journey..

We have dogs and love the idea that people are so dog friendly in the area....

Best Wishes,

Evelyn
