Sorry to ask but can you still get you S1 from U.K. when applying for residency in Spain? I thought it finished.

From what I read pensioners can now obtain an SI for healthcare in Spain, this is all a little bizarre as many people left UK before the end of the withdrawal agreement to obtain one. The next thing to be cracked to encourage people to move is the driving licence swap.

My link states S1 form is now accepted for non-lucrative visa applications in UK. However, I would also add private care is very good indeed in Spain and about a third of the cost in UK.. Plus a private GP visit can be just 40 Euro, for those who prefer to go without long waits in their state  heath centres.

Yes, S1 is available to those eligible for state pension.

My experience of just going to the pharmacy .......tablets available in France for 5,40 euros cost me 28 euros in Spain..... truly not cheap! I offered my EHIC and was not offered any form for claiming back!

I am willing to queue if the costs are so high.

I never used my EHIC or S1, drugs are not that expensive here, but more than UK for basic things like aspirin, which you can't buy in the supermarket. GP's are really cheap about 40 Euro for consultation, I paid about £200 for private GP in the UK. Sanitas which is part of BUPA amazing, only one third of cost UK with great service.

I don’t understand how this video helps with a visa and S1? It’s just not addressed here?

Sorry confusing they include talking about a TIE, which you get after the Visa is issued this link to 'upticks' who can answer most of the question. . https://upsticks.es/got-your-visa-what-you-need-to-do-first-when-you-arrive-in-spain/

This other video the guy from Upticks talks about the Visa and where you go to get one, it's not simple now not EU citizens, Spain really is a 'foreign country'  Good luck .
