Hi, is it okay for a landlord to ask for your personal proof of income? To get a visa and TIE you have to prove your income so therefore is it necessary to give this info to prospective landlord ......??? Surely by fact you have a visa authorised is proof of suitable income. Please can you tell me if this is mandatory?

verify the proof of earnings
check how previous tenancies were conducted - or - obtain references from any previous landlords
verify the applicant's identity through supporting documents
check the applicant can support the rental payments

I don't know if that is mandatory but I would think if you don't do as the landlord wishes, you'll be going to another landlord!
