Good day Francis

Is that Torrox village or Torrox Costa you are moving to ?  There are lots of free magazines and local papers where you will find clubs etc for ex pats. You can get involved with something I am sure. You can view these online. As far as being lonely, well it is a big step and one I will be making in the winter of this year. There is only one way to find out.

I guess if you are feeling lonely at the moment then why not be lonely in the sun ? New opportunities, new start. If you have a very strong social life at the moment perhaps, you will struggle a little at the start. As you say, you are friendly and outgoing, so thats a positive. I of course, face the same danger, but if you give yourself time to settle, don't expect to much to soon, then perhaps all will be well. I am retired too, by the way.

Getting use to the weather is something not everyone takes into consideration. Can be difficult to deal with at times.

Send me a private message if you want, Perhaps we can meet up and have a coffee or a drink down by the sea.

Good luck

Hi Francis,

as Mitch said, there are plenty resources and I'm sure once you get here and start exploring, you'll easily meet new friends. TC is a lovely place with lots of expats and if you are outgoing and friendly, you shouldn't have any problems.

Hello, And thank you for your reply. I'm going to the costa first where I will rent. Then the plan is to buy in torrox pueblo.i know the Costa del sol quite well but I've never been to Torrox. But after extensive research, it's seems to tick all the boxes. If not I may have a rethink.im glad to hear that there are lots of expats.im getting very excited at the prospect of a new life in the sun as I'm a real fan of being warm.also I have a bit of a chest problem that WILL benefit from the better weather. So once more thank you for your reply, and offer to meet for a drink. That would be great "one new friend already". Your very kind.

Good to know and I'm sure you will love living in Torrox. The Pueblo is lovely with lots of activities and fun things going on. I have a lovely friend who lives there with his wife - he's a photographer and has done a wonderful shoot for me for my business. If you do go there, and you are on Facebook, I'm happy to connect you with him and I'm sure he'd be happy to meet you for a coffee too. I live in Penoncillo Playa (part of Torrox Costa) which is lovely too and I have a cracking ocean view! If you send me your FB link, I'll send you a friend request.

Hi Francis,

Might be easier if you send me a request here as after a quick look I couldn't find you!
