Hello all.

I am hoping to move permanently to my apartment in Torremolinos at some point after May 2021.
I will be bringing my dog (all info got for him easily) but I also want to bring my 24 year old parrot with me too.

Information is hard to come by! Does anyone know what I need to do? Or where to go and ask?

Many thanks

Duncan and Barney

Hello Duncan & Barne,

We took my African Grey to Spain in 2017, but now Brexit has moved the goal posts, the process I used may well have changed.

Here is a contact number Contact DAERA on 02877 442 060 from https://www.gov.uk/guidance/get-an-export-health-certificate. I found them very helpful.

Also your vet should have some guidance.

Hope this helps to get you the right information and a successful move to Spain.

All the best,

Peter

Hi, you can get all the information from DEFRA, they are very helpful. We took our Parrot Becky to Turkey for five years and brought her back to the UK. Please double check All your paperwork to avoid problems.

Hi

Many thanks

I am jumping through the hoops as we speak.

DEFRA have been help as have been Brittany Ferries.

With Brexit there are a number of unknowns, but I think I have them covered now.

I'm hoping we will be all set to come out at the end of May 21!

Regards

Duncan

Hi Duncan

I brought mine over before Brexit and it was rather involved and confusing.   You need to go on defra website and see what’s required now it’s post Brexit. EHC  I needed plus cities by the Spanish as  greys are now classed as an endangered species.

Where are you in the Uk?   I had a great vet that help with the EHC   Please let me know if I can help any fur
