Basically it’s quite simple the Spanish government want you to show that you have enough money and medical cover over the 5 year periods…

year 1 you have to show €30,000’as a couple

You then extend visa for two year period so you have show enough savings for two years figure is €50,000

Two years later the extension is a further 2 years so a further €50,0000’sabimgs required… you can use income of €2000 plus month as well..but this can’t be a for Spanish derived job as an NLV ia a non work visa

hope that helps

Could you clarify the last paragraph please, you say use income as well. Can you use income instead of having a lump sum. There are two of us, both with small private pensions and next year we'll have state pension, but no lump sum savings. We plan to rent. How much income do I need to show? Thanks..

Hi

i Think as a couple you need to show €29,000 income as a couple per year

I would clarify this with Spanish authorities before making any fixed plans of course

Thanks for replying, there's presumably a website somewhere that gives a concrete, 100% correct, statement of fact of the financial requirements as I keep seeing varying amounts! All very confusing. Although as you say, the Spanish Authorities should know. Anyone seen this fabled website?.....
