Hi everyone

Was just wondering if anyone can help. I am hoping to move to Spain next year on a non lucrative visa. But what would be the situation if I had the chance of a couple of months work in the uk self employed. Would this be possible and would it affect the visa

Thanks for any help

Hi Billy,

Once you have the non lucrative visa you can stay in the EU for 12 months… if you meet the requirements of the visa and do not believe there is a restriction in coming back to the uk for couple of months…..the visa is good for 12 months before you need to renew…

Years two and three are done together  when you or if you renew……

if you need any further information on the non lucrative visa let me know I have just obtained two visa from Spanish consulate in Manchester

Please check the length of time that you can stay out of Spain in that first year - it may only be one month.

Apologies, I can't locate a link to check this.

What I can’t understand is if you have to renew the following year you have to have double the savings from the previous application ,what if you need to use your savings or don’t have an income from them ?

Hi,

the visa renewal is for two years not one.. so Spanish government want to see that you have enough money to last two years

Hence needing double the savings for a couple it’s about €50,000 I believe

It’s for a year to begin with isn’t it then 2 then 5 years then permanent

Does your savings have to increase at each stage then ?

How does this differ if you you go for residencia instead of NLV

1 year

2 years visa extension

2 yeas visa extension

then no further check required

all of this is explained on application forms from Spanish embassy

A non lucrative visa gives you residence ….after five years…

it allows you stay more than 90 days….

Basically it’s quite simple the Spanish government want you to show that you have enough money and medical cover over the 5 year periods…

year 1 you have to show €30,000’as a couple

You then extend visa for two year period so you have show enough savings for two years figure is €50,000

Two years later the extension is a further 2 years so a further €50,0000’sabimgs required… you can use income of €2000 plus month as well..but this can’t be a for Spanish derived job as an NLV ia a non work visa

hope that helps
