What a contrast between our beaches and UK  beaches

I drove along to Torre del mar from rincon and the beaches had 2m isolation evn though the beaches were busy also  the British GP,Wimbledon and eurofootball showed no adherence

Yes and my recollection is that Torre del mar and rincon are in  costa del sol

However appreciate the culture of observing covid guidance in spain and it will be interesting to see how the new  UK tourists observe the guidnce here

TBH I am not sure that we can compare the two areas.  Yes the beaches in the UK are definitely overly crowded in that picture, however there is a larger population there and I am sure the extended lockdowns and restrictions have been a bigger burden for people in the UK than here.

I can also totally see why people would take advantage of a nice day and hurry to the beach hoping it would not be so busy, finding it busy... but having driven quite a while to get there .... decided to just hang out for awhile.

I do think that we humans tend to judge too easily and with Covid the idea that "we are all in this together..." seems a distant memory.

I personally prefer not to get on the bandwagon of judging people based on a media picture.

I hope everyone, everywhere, manages to get to a beach sometime, chill out with family and friends (or on your own) and listen to the waves.  Its good for the spirit. And about now everyone needs some of that.

And, of course, we also have to remember that media images are not always what they appear to be (or indeed taken when suggested) as evident from an image from Giles Coren. Same beach, same day.... apparently.

Precisely.  The media like to stir things up and get people sharing pictures so their hits go up.  Glad you shared that Andy.

Sorry to disagree with you but the facts are now presenting themselves in todays  covid figures for the UK

Last year i was living in bournemouth literally 5 minutes walk from southbourne beach and we kept away from the beach until about 8pm when the. visitors had vacated the beaches

due to Bournemouth council lack of preparation -the public toilets were shut so people either used the seaor behind the beach huts ,the rubbish was unbelievable

Yes i agree in enjoying the sunshine but consideation for other peopleis important -as is noticable here in Costa del sol

i,m really pleased i moved over here permanently prior to the brexit deadline

I dont get the common people thread

My original post was about the different attitude between the spanish and the English with regards to Covid and beach attitudes

You then say about the photograph -well the photograph from facebook is a differentpart of Bournemouth beach  one is new the pier and the other is further along the beach Bournemouth beach goes from sandbanks to Muddeford (christchurch )

Whether you live in a Sandbanks mansion or a bedsit doesn't alter the attitude and courtesy to other beach users so i dont see a "common" connection
